Fusion of Asian cuisines in Slovenia
Shambala is the perfect choice for those who crave the exotic flavours of the Far East.
In Tibetan Buddhism, Shambala refers to a mythical kingdom, symbolising a place of happiness and delight – a fitting name for a restaurant where guests can savour the rich flavours of Asian cuisine.
Nestled in the charming old town of Ljubljana, Shambala exudes an air of mysticism. Its tucked-away location invites you to discover it: step off the bustling promenade and down a picturesque, flower-lined alley to find this culinary gem.
The Far East-inspired ambience is cosy, perfect for intimate conversations or lively gatherings with friends. The landscaped garden terrace, adorned with its trees, lush shrubs and bamboo, offers a tranquil escape reminiscent of distant lands.
Under the expert guidance of head chef Florijan Virant, the menu features a diverse selection of dishes ranging from traditional Asian classics to creative fusions inspired by Japan, Thailand and elsewhere. Their Thai curry is reputed to be the best in the city.
An extensive wine list reflects their passion for pairing Asian cuisine with wine, with Slovenia’s finest vintages said to complement these dishes perfectly.
