About chef

It’s not only about designing dishes; she finds inspiration in designing plates as well.

After a master’s degree in interior design, Kapetanović also ventured into designing plates. But her passion for cooking prevailed. She still designs, only the product is different. Kapetanović explains that the creative process itself inspires her in the kitchen, as it does in design. She most often gets inspired after seeing a photo or an art exhibition rather than during a visit to a top restaurant.

Chef Kapetanović finds her inspiration in her life and the paths that she’s walked so far. She lived in Italy for three years and two in Barcelona, Catalonia. She studied and got her master’s degree in design, but then discovered that she enjoys being in the kitchen more. She attended the renowned French Le Cordon Bleu culinary school where she learned the basics of French cuisine, which she combines with Dalmatian and Slovenian cuisines and swears only by the very best ingredients.

Care for guests’ satisfaction should be reflected through one’s own distinct culinary identity.

Petra Kapetanović

Guest at the centre

Her family provided her with great technical skills, and she knows that the strict rules of the business, such as careful sourcing, food storage and preparation must be observed. She derives from the basic framework that involves respect for the tradition and culture of food preparation. Her efforts are directed towards one goal only: to satisfy the guest. The latter must be at the centre of attention. Of this, the chef is certain. They must enjoy the food. She also fulfils her mission when designing dishes.

Kapetanović knows she is not alone in this. In her small but ever creative team, she triggers the process, steers it, and finally realises it on a plate. Her inspiration changes over the seasons. It derives from currently available seasonal ingredients and her perception of her surroundings.
