A new culinary front
A gastronomic journey by the Mura River, on the border between Slovenia and Austria
The first sparkling wine estate in Slovenia and former Yugoslavia, in Radgonske Gorice, opened Bistro RG to commemorate 170 years of operation. Their production of top wines and sparkling wines was taken to the next level with fine dining. They started in the early 1990s with tours of their unique cellars under the Gornja Radgona Castle hill, continued with the opening of the RG Dom penine in 2012 and finally launched the RG Bistro in 2022. All with the wish to offer the region’s visitors a unique culinary and oenological experience.

Flavours of love
Chef Aleksander likes to joke that the boss in the kitchen is love.
He creates dishes in harmony with his whole team. RG Bistro is most known for its steaks, steak tartare and Kaiserschmarrn, in addition to local dishes, such as goulash with polenta, pork shank with potato salad and, during the season, sarma or stuffed peppers and sour soup. Another interesting dish is the house apple pie, improved with the recipe of the director’s mother-in-law, Milena. She likes to use a lot of apples and another secret ingredient.
