About chef

He cooks the way people cooked before him: slowly, with local ingredients and without unnecessary flourishes.

Milodrag Gogić believes that real cooking needs no embellishment. In his kitchen, the ingredients make the decisions: sausages, his own sauerkraut and trout, served cold and hot smoked throughout the year.

The techniques he uses are simple and proven. Slow-roasting beef and pork is not a trend he follows but a way of working he knows and trusts. Every dish is the result of the time it demands and the respect for what the local environment provides.

Every dish is the result of the time it demands and the respect for the ingredients that come from the environment where I live and create.

Milodrag Gogić

chef

At Old Cellar Bled lake view, time seems to slow down, almost caught in the rhythm of the past. His kitchen is built on techniques that have shaped the food of the Bled lakeside for centuries: slow-roasting meat, smoking fish and patient work with seasonal produce from the local area.

At the heart of his cooking are flavours that accompanied the everyday life of those who came before us. Among them, beef cheeks stand out as the dish Milodrag values most for its depth and warmth. Slow cooking brings them to a tenderness that reveals layers of flavour and the comfort of home cooking. Smoked trout holds an equally special place as his favourite local ingredient, one in which he recognises a symbol of Bled: clarity, freshness and a connection to nature.

Simplicity that never gets old

A kitchen that respects time

Milodrag wants his guests to feel a piece of the past when they eat. The warmth of a home hearth and a faithfulness to local tradition.

Old Cellar Bled lake view is more than a restaurant. It is a place where tradition and nature meet. Every plate is an invitation to pause for a moment and discover that the greatest art is often found in simplicity.
